Will god forgive me for being gay

Unrepentant sin can't be forgiven you must repent and ask for forgiveness. Being gay isn't a sin, homosexual acts are. But even that will be forgiven if asked with contrition. If you repent and believe Jesus christ can change your heart. 1 At the heart of the claim that the Bible is clear "that homosexuality is forbidden by God" is poor biblical scholarship and a cultural bias read into the Bible. For the last two decades, Pew Research Center has reported that one of the most enduring ethical issues across Christian traditions is sexual diversity. 2 Only homosexual acts are gravely sinful. But God does forgive those acts, provided the sinner is truly repentant. In fact, the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) clearly teaches: There is no offense, however serious, that the Church cannot forgive. 3 This is part one of an ongoing series on problematic trends in the church regarding LGBT issues. Many who describe themselves this way — but by no means all — say they are embracing chastity or celibacy and pursuing a relationship with Christ. 4 Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. 5 I do my best to accept Catholic teaching, including in the area of sexuality. But I hope what I write here will be relevant to you no matter what your relationship to faith and to the Catholic Church. 6 Jesus himself said, “If you love me, you will obey my commands” (John 15); a Christian living in a way that consistently breaks Jesus’ commandments is not, ultimately, a Christian. Yet this is not to say that it is not possible to be a Christian and experience homosexual feelings. 7 If a Gay person accepts Jesus but does not change his lifestyle, can he go to Heaven? And you are exactly right: there is only one sin that is unforgivable. 8 Finally, we need to understand that God offers forgiveness, a clean record, and restoration through Jesus Christ for all repentant sinners, including those who have a history of homosexual behavior and other sins. 9 . 10
